About Me

Hi! My name is Gia Galindo Bartley, and I'm a 19-year-old aspiring columnist born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado. Since I was a kid, I've loved creating, and when I joined the publications at my high school, The Skier Scribbler and Silver Queen Yearbook, I felt that I had finally found my calling. Since graduating high school, I've continued pursuing Journalism at Colorado State University (Go Rams!) as a Journalism and Media Communications major and a Race, Gender, and Ethnic Studies minor. During my time so far as a student at CSU, I have begun working as a columnist at the Rocky Mountain Collegian. As a passion project, I am currently in the midst of establishing my very own blog. While I love writing, I am also an avid visual artist, live music lover, and reader. I'm devoted to my goal of making a difference in the journalism world by writing about issues and topics that affect the communities I am a part of, as well as my passion for making the industry more diverse as a whole.
